  • Reopening of Schools Update: We would like to share that at the board meeting Tuesday night December 15, 2020, the Governing Board approved a reopening date for in-person instruction for our elementary schools. That date is January 25, 2021, pending COVID conditions. The board also determined that secondary schools will remain in distance learning during the second semester until county/state COVID conditions allow for the reopening of secondary schools. Small cohorts will continue at secondary schools with a restart date of January 25, 2021. Along with this information, we would like to inform you that all students will resume distance learning on January 11, 2021.  On behalf of all of us in Selma Unified, we wish all our families a restful and healthy winter break. 

     

    Reapertura de Escuelas: Buenas tardes familias de Selma Unified. Nos gustaría compartir que en la reunión de la mesa directiva el martes 15 de diciembre por la tarde aprobó una fecha de reapertura para la instrucción en persona para nuestras escuelas primarias. Esa fecha es el 25 de enero de 2021, pendiente de condiciones COVID. La mesa directiva también determinó que las escuelas secundarias permanecerán en educación a distancia durante el segundo semestre hasta que las condiciones de COVID del condado/estado permitan la reapertura de las escuelas secundarias. Las cohortes pequeñas continuarán en las escuelas secundarias con una fecha de reinicio del 25 de enero de 2021. Junto con esta información, nos gustaría informarle que todos los estudiantes reanudarán la instrucción a distancia el 11 de enero de 2021. En nombre de todos nosotros en el distrito de Selma, deseamos a todas nuestras familias unas vacaciones de invierno tranquilas y saludables.

Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan

  • On June 29, 2020, Governor Newsom signed Senate Bill (SB) 98 Education Finance. This bill states that the LCAP and an annual update to the LCAP will not be required for the 2020–2021 school year.  In place of the LCAP districts will be required to complete the Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan (LCP). The completion of this new plan requires stakeholder engagement and input, including a Public Comment opportunity. On September 22, 2020, the Selma Unified school board approved the final version of the Selma Unified Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan.
